ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A jury has been selected in the trial of Dontae Morris, a Tampa man who is charged with the slayings of Tampa police officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab during a traffic stop in 2010.
Attorneys agreed on 12 jurors and four alternates Thursday afternoon. Hillsborough Circuit Judge William Fuente chose to pull jurors from Orange County, hoping they would not be biased by extensive local media coverage of the case.
Jury selection began earlier this week, and the trial will begin Tuesday.
If convicted of the police killings, Morris could face a possible death sentence.
