FORT MYERS, FL.--Facebook photos show 24-year old Binish Evans appearing to be a normal, loving mother to her 2-year old daughter Addyson.

But on Tuesday that dynamic seemed to severely change.

"Honestly, I don't think it could be much worse," said lead detective Emily DeStefanis with FMPD.

Police say Addyson was found alone in a hotel room in a makeshift crib for nearly 18 hours.

"The only worse scenario is that she didn't make it through this," said DeStefanis.

The toddler was covered in her own urine and feces, had open sores and her skin was peeling off.
Police say she was so dehydrated and emaciated, she weighed only 16 pounds.

"This is probably one of the worst child neglect and abuse situations I have seen in my career," said DeStefanis.

WINK News has learned evans is a certified nursing assistant and used to work at Lee Memorial Hospital for a few months.

"Something drastic had to have happened," said child psychiatrist Dr. Omar Rieche.

Rieche says it could be a number of things that happened to evans, like depression or even a psycosis, and becoming severely out of touch with reality.

"They can also ignore the cues of a child--the crying, the smell or the completely un-kept conditions," said Rieche.

Rieche says the neglect had to have gone on for at least two to four weeks.

"This is slow, suffering and torture," he said.

Police say the mother is the only suspect of this crime, but are still trying to determine how long she was neglecting her child.
