Cape Coral, FL -  The Cape Coral Police Department Vice, Intelligence, and Narcotics (VIN) Unit took down another marijuana grow house in north Cape Coral on Tuesday.

Working in conjunction with the Cape Coral Police Department Street Crimes Unit (SCU), Cape Coral VIN Detectives obtained and served a search warrant at 2416 NE 22 Place after receiving intelligence that a marijuana grow house operation was at that location.

The investigation yielded a total of 80 marijuana plants, weighing a total of 137 lbs, with a street value in excess of of $100,000. Officers arrested Jair Baluja-Martinez.

"Our VIN Detectives and SCU Officers did an outstanding job in taking another marijuana grow operation down 'by the numbers.'  Effective intelligence gathering plus solid police work to corroborate the information led to the warrant being served quickly, tactically, and safely.  This is a win for the neighborhood, which can sleep safer knowing this element is no longer there operating near their homes, their families, and their children."- Det. Sergeant Dana Coston, Cape Coral Police Department Public Affairs Officer.
