LEE COUNTY, FL- A six-month undercover Narcotics Operation exploded with a bang, literally.  Diversionary devices, known as flash bangs, rang out shortly after 7:00 this morning in the Pine Manor community as the Lee County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team took down five homes simultaneously. Homes filled with heroin, crack cocaine, methamphetamine pills...and a lot of surprised street level drug dealers that were hauled off to jail.

It's safe to say they didn't know what hit them until it was too late, said Sheriff Mike Scott, who announced that as of midday today, twenty people had been arrested as part of  Operation Mind Your Manor.  More than a dozen others are actively being sought.

Sheriff Scott, along for the operation, says one of the most poignant moments of his law enforcement career was witnessing a SWAT team member as he cradled an infant and rushed him out of harm's way.  The infant's crib was just a couple feet from a table covered with heroin and cocaine.

Sheriff Scott says the Operation is ongoing and promises to continue this relentless focus on the drug trade and violence in the community.
