COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A Collier County judge decided today that there is sufficient probable cause for a charge of Second Degree Murder against 78-year-old Javier Ortoll.
Ortoll is accused of murdering his tenant, 51-year-old Edward Melone, near Okeechobee Street in the East Naples area on Monday.
In court today, the defense attorney asked for a bond of $50,000, while the State wanted $250,000. The court set his bond at $75,000.
Ortoll is not to contact his neighbors, and must surrender all fire arms, including any in the home, prior to his release.
His family said they will pay his bail today.
