PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives are requesting assistance in identifying the man who broken into a northwest Port Charlotte home last week and removed two firearms.

On Tuesday at about 1:00 p.m., the suspect entered the residence, located off Biscayne Drive, by prying a rear sliding glass door off the tracks. This caused the alarm to activate, but the man went into anyway.

Once inside the house, the man went through the bedroom area and removed a small safe containing two Glock handguns and some ammunition. He was in the house only a short time before leaving through the front door. The victim’s security system video captured the attached image of the man.

Anyone with information concerning this burglary or the identity of the suspect is asked to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
