Lee County, Fl. - An Air Tran flight taking off for Columbus, Ohio was struck by a bird and had to return to Southwest Florida International Airport. An airport official says 86 passengers and five crew members were on board for flight number 743. No one was injured. The flight took just after 10 a.m. and returned to the airport at 10:53 a.m. AirTrain says the bird struck the plane but did cause any mechanical damage to the engines.
