FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Police arrested 24-year-old Christopher Walker, of 2163 Willard Street, after they discovered he had an open warrant for failing to appear to a trial.

On Thursday, at 6:18 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a call in reference to a breach of peace at that address. Upon police arrival several people involved in an altercation inside the residence came out to talk to officers. The suspect remained inside and was armed with a shotgun.

Police setup a perimeter around the house and called for the department’s SWAT team and Critical Incident Negotiations Team. Within 45 minutes of the call the suspect peacefully surrendered to officers. Police also located and secured his weapon.

No one was hurt.

The suspect is currently in police custody and the investigation remains active at this time.
