LEE COUNTY, FL - FGCU professor Peter Bergerson has a history making event taking center stage in his political science classes. The government shutdown, he says, is the perfect way to show how the government should not work. "they are in need of adult supervision", Bergerson says speaking of Washington politicians. He says this impass shows society a bad image of politicians and politics as a whole. "if they can't come to a compromise, why should we?" Bergerson's students are speaking out against the shutdown, telling WINK News, "while 800 thousand people are out of work, these Congressman are sitting tight in their offices still getting paid".
