LEE COUNTY, Fla.- FDOT's project to install the traffic signal at the Michael G. Rippe Parkway/Briarcliff Road intersection starts at the end of September. Crews anticipate starting work at the intersection tentatively on September 26.

Traffic signal heads were delivered to FDOT’s operations center in Fort Myers this summer. The signal is expected to be operational this fall.

The project also includes installation of drainage pipe under Industrial Drive at the southern end of the job, adding bike railing to the overpass/bridge, and adding bicycle pavement markings to the new roadway. The job as a whole will finish early next year, weather permitting, and costs $543,000. The contractor is Florida Safety Contractors.
