LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A 12-year-old was hit by a car at 6:45 a.m. while waiting for his school bus at Davis Blvd. at Fifth St. in Fort Myers Shores.
Florida Highway Patrol said 36-year-old Melissa Sepielli hit the boy with her Honda Accord while he was waiting in the grassy, gravel area on the side of the road. The victim was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, but FHP said he did not suffer any injuries.
Sepielli made an improper turn and drove off the road, according to FHP, so she was cited for careless driving.
