FORT MYERS, Fl. - A Southwest Florida sculptor is honoring the lives lost in the September 11th attacks with some unique pieces of art.
Sandra Priest is touring around the country showcasing her sculptures, 'UT6 And All' and 'Star-11.' Both pieces are made out of concrete taken from Ground Zero.
With the help of the company, Mountain Crane, the two 9,000-pound pieces travelling around the country as part of Priest's project, 'Eleven-Up.'
"In the hopes of rebuilding a nation and healing for everybody because not everybody is going to get a chance to go to Ground Zero or the 9/11 museum" Priest says.
"We can't see something bigger than honoring our fallen soldiers who've paid the ultimate sacrifice to us to do what we enjoy doing," says Garrett Blood with Mountain Crane.
The piece, 'UT-6 And All' represents six Utah soldiers who lost their lives.
