LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A motorcycle ride to honor fallen Sergeant Mike Wilson of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office will travel from Fort Myers to Charlotte County today.
On Sunday, August 25th, members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit, V.O.I.C.E. Unit, Cape Coral Police Department, and Collier County Sheriff’s Office will escort approximately 300 - 500 motorcycles from Gulf Coast Motorcycles located at 16090 South Tamiami Trail to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. The event is a fundraiser for Sgt. Mike Wilson’s family. The escort is scheduled to leave Gulf Coast Motorcycles at 9:00am. This event will result in some traffic delays between the hours of 9:00am until approximately 10:30am on the route.
The route is as follows:
Southbound from 16090 South Tamiami Trail to Michael G. Rippe Parkway.
Northbound on Michael G. Rippe Parkway to Metro Parkway.
Metro Parkway to Hanson Street.
Hanson Street to Evans Avenue.
Evans Avenue to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Park Avenue (to the Edison Bridge).
North Tamiami Trail to U.S. 41.
U.S. 41 to the Charlotte County line.
