FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Fort Myers Police Department arrested a man last night, who is wanted for murder in Palm Beach County.
Just before midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which they observed a passenger that was not wearing a seatbelt. When they approached the car, the passenger told police that he didn’t have any identification and that his name was Edison Jefferson. After numerous attempts to positively identify the passenger, the officers transported him to the Lee County Jail where a fingerprint scanner revealed his true identity as 26-year-old Herman Thomany of Boynton Beach.
Police conducted a warrants inquiry, which revealed Thomany had an active warrant out of Palm Beach County for Second Degree Murder with a Firearm and Domestic Battery. Police arrested Thomany for the out of county warrant and for providing a false name to law enforcement.
