NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Two people are dead following a hit-and-run in New Smyrna Beach.
    
Police say a person traveling on State Road 44 late Tuesday found the bodies of 24-year-old Zachary Kahle and 26-year-old Savannah Jo Dejarnette were found on the side of the road.
    
Sgt. Valarie Joyce told the Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/15OfCZV ) the driver fled the scene after hitting the couple.
    
Authorities found Dejarnette's car west of Interstate 95. They believe her car may have broken down and they were walking along SR 44 when they were struck.
    
Police are asking for the public's help in solving the crime.
