COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- The FWC collected the remains of a 16-month-old uncollared female panther today on US 41, west of Oasis in Collier County.

The panther had been hit by a car. This is the 14th panther mortality and 11th road mortality for 2013.

The carcass will be transported to the FWC Wildlife Research Lab in Gainesville for necropsy.
