CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - A cold case in Charlotte County is heating up after the arrest of 42-year-old Keith Wilson on the warrant charging him with First Degree Murder in the death of Pilar Rodriguez in February 1999. People are awaiting Keith Wilson's arrival from Owingsville, Kentucky to Charlotte County and wondering if his arrest will finally bring closure to the case.
His arrest followed a plea from his former girlfriend Melissa Harding-Jones. Only Wink News cameras were in the courtroom last week when she pleaded guilty in Charlotte County Court to being an accessory after the fact to capitol murder.
Jones was the little girl's babysitter at the time and the last person seen with her. According to Jones, Wilson beat Pilar to death, stuffed her body in a bag and dumped it somewhere. Family of Pilar and people following this story have waited 14-years for a break in this case.
