FORT MYERS, Fl. - Lace up the gloves and step into the ring! Some local teens are gearing up to compete in the national boxing championship.
It's thanks to their training with the Fort Myers Police Athletic League's Boxing Team. The program is an opportunity for officers and volunteers to work with mor than 400 youth in the community every year.
They train in sports ranging from boxing to basketball to cheerleading.
Saturday, to show the public how they've been training, the boxers were in the ring sparring. Five of them will be heading to the national competition in September.
