FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating more gun violence, this time at the Southward Village apartments, after yesterday's early morning shooting death of Latasha Faison at the Jones Walker apartments.

FMPD received numerous 911 calls from Southward Village regarding gunshots around 9:15 p.m. on Monday. Officers canvassed the area, but found no victims or witnesses to speak with.

Just before 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to St. Charles St. in reference to a past occurred assault. The caller said the victim had been shot at earlier in the night, but had not been injured. The complainant also said the suspects involved were part of a gang called the "PJ Boys."

Upon arrival, two victims told police they and two others had been hanging out at Southward Village when two men came around the corner and began shooting at them. They ran, but told the officers one of their friends had been shot in the leg. The two stayed put, while the other friend took the injured party to the hospital.

One of the victims said seven to eight shots were fired.

Based on information gathered during interviews, the suspected shooters may have been seeking retaliation for previous offense committed by a group allegedly known as the "Bucktown Boys."

The victims did not want to press charges. They told police they didn't see the men who shot at them and would not look at a photo lineup, if one was presented to them.

Officers returned to Southward Village and found no sign of a scene.
