FORT MYERS, Fla.- It's a full house at the Fort Myers City Council meeting tonight. Dozens of people are there, wearing roses, in support of Rose Rundle.
Rundle is the former Head of the Harborside Event Center. She was fired for showing favoritism toward an employee, and for violating several city policies. Now, she is fighting to get her job back.
Tonight, we asked the Mayor if rumors were true that Rundle was fired because the two of them could not agree on the new downtown hotel.
"I think that is...totally....I have no evidence of that. I don't know....I have some information about the reason she was fired, but...in fact, there is so much outstanding on the hotel issue that it is hard to dispute things that you don't have the full information on or the full...," said Mayor Randy Henderson.
WINK News has a crew at that meeting right now.
The council will also look into whether the Human Resources Department and the City Manager's Office followed the right termination procedures.
