LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.-  Firefighters responded to a house fire at 4405 14th St. late this afternoon.

Two people were transported to the hospital with unknown injuires, but the fire chief on the scene said their injuries were not fatal.

Firefighters were also able to get the residents' pet ferret out alive.

The windows of the home were broken to fight the fire, that has since been extinguished.
