LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Fireworks are a big part of 4th of July celebrations. But, while you and your family may enjoy the rockets red glare, your pets may not be so fond of the boom that follows. Vets say pets have no idea what is going on and the constant booms can scare animals into a frenzy. Vets recommend isolating your pet in a room of your home, preferably without windows. Turn on a tv or radio, louder than normal, to muffle the sounds coming from outside. Also, make sure your pet has a collar with a ID tag or ID chip in case they do get away.
