PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Friday morning around 10:30 a.m. an armored truck and SUV collided and flipped over. Incredibly, everyone involved suffered minor injuries.

The gold Suzuki SUV and the Dunbar armored vehicle were quickly towed away, but the skid marks and the torn up grass on Dundee Road and Florida Street still show how close both vehicles came to nearby homes and the residents inside.

"They blocked me off down the road I tell them I live down the road they finally let me in and I see all this. It was incredible. I am surprised this girl survived it was it was nasty."

"I heard a huge bang and I went looking out of the window and I still have my shutters on so I came outside and saw both the truck and the car," said neighbor Jeannette Griswold, "Someone told me she was making a u-turn or something that's all I know."

Charlotte County firefighters quickly removed the trapped driver from the SUV, a young woman, said to be in her 20's.

"They did a good job EMS, Sheriff, they were all here. She kinda helped herself out a little bit also so we knew that was a good sign and they put her on the gurney."

The occupants of the armored vehicle were both able to walk away from the crash and the driver of the SUV is in stable condition at an area hospital.

There has been no word of what caused the crash, but unconfirmed reports say the driver of the SUV tried to make a U-turn in front of the armored vehicle.
