LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Derrick Brewster, 70, faced a Lee County judge for the first time since his arrest Thursday.

Brewster is accused of possessing child pornography with the intent to promote it.

His neighbors on American Eagle Court were shocked to hear the news, saying the retired insurance salesman was well-liked in the neighborhood. They tell WINK News Brewster did not have any children his household but has grandchildren who visit the home frequently.

According to an arrest report from FDLE, Brewster became the target of a month-long investigation after detectives became aware of child pornography being advertised on a peer-to-peer network. The report says investigators traced the videos to Brewster's computer. A search of his home office produced an external hard drive with 3 videos on it. Investigators say the videos depicted young girls performing sex acts.

Early Friday afternoon, Brewster made bail. He is under court orders not to have contact with minors or conduct any electronic communication.
