LEE COUNTY, FL - At a hastily prepared news conference, Edison State College President, Dr. Jeff Allbritton announced, the S.A.C.S. accreditation board called to advise him the college was no longer on suspension and re-affirmed their full accreditation. The college had been placed on probation by the board one year ago after multiple violations were uncovered. The S.A.C.S. board said at the time, students were being allowed to swap core classes for electives, thus not earning necessary credits for degrees they were given. The board gave college officials a number of items to fix during the probationary period. Allbritton says all recomendations were addressed over the last year and Edison now faces a bright future.
