POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) - How hot is it in Pompano Beach?
It wasn't 104 degrees on Sunday. But that's what many weather apps reported.
The National Weather Service say don't believe your smartphone. It's not that hot.
The temperatures in South Florida hovered around 90 degrees over the weekend. And that's typical temperature for this time of year.
The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/15c583A ) reports a malfunctioning sensor is to blame for the high temperatures that have been reported since Saturday.
Meteorologist Evelyn Rivera says the Automated Surface Observation Sensor at the Pompano Beach Airpark needs to be replaced. That will happen later this week. Until then, it will continue to send out false readings.
