Update from Fort Myers Police

On Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 7:38 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a robbery and a shooting at the Tienda Mexicana San Isidro, a

small grocery store, located at 1955 Coronado Road. Upon arrival police learned that a man armed with a gun entered the business and demanded money.

During the robbery a customer was shot and sustained a non-life-threatening injury. He was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. Witnesses described the

suspect as a Hispanic male, wearing a white shirt, dark colored pants and a bandana to hide his face. Police set up a perimeter with assistance from the Lee

County Sheriff's Office utilizing K9 but did not locate the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call FMPD at 321-7700, Crime Stoppers at

1-800-780-TIPS or text message C-R-I-M-E-S (274637) Keyword FMPD.  Tipsters can remain anonymous. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and

conviction of the robbery suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
