SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's deputies moved quickly to catch two male suspects involved in a home invasion that took place on Laurel Valley Rd. Monday afternoon.

The call came in just before 2:30 p.m. LCSO says the two men being held for the robbery didn't get very far. They did make their way into a house, but were arrested a short time later.

According to the arrest report, Ross Shutak and Raymond Smith entered the 77 year old woman's home through an unlocked sliding glass door. They asked for one hundred dollars and threatened to shoot her, but did not display a gun. She says the suspects rummaged through her property and took about 37 dollars in cash and two bottles of medication.

The woman was able to grab a cell phone and call 9-1-1. At that point, the suspects ran off.

Deputies found the men matching the victim's description approximately half a mile down the road from her home.
