NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- A fire has shut down a restaurant in North Fort Myers.

The fire broke out in a deep fryer in the kitchen at Jersey's Sports Café, at the corner of Pondella and US 41.

The flames shot through vents to the roof of the building, as they are supposed to do in a kitchen fire. Crews from North Fort Myers put out the fire in just a couple of minutes.

No one was hurt, and damage was fairly minor.

The fire department says Jersey's will be closed for some time, so inspectors can look at the fryers. It is unknown when the restaurant is expected to re-open.
