PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- The Punta Gorda Police Department arrested 61-year-old Adrienne Cambareri, a teacher at the Charlotte Harbor Center in Port Charlotte, on a DUI charge Sunday night.

Officers say her speech was slurred and her eyes were red and glassy when they stopped her on southbound US 41at Singapore Rd. Just after 10:30 p.m. Cambareri allegedly told officers she had taken allergy medication, but denied having anything to drink. After failing sobriety tests, she was arrested and taken to the Charlotte County Jail, where she refused to take a breath test.

Her bond was set at $750.
