LEE COUNTY, FL - Deputy Michael Ronga bonded out of a Lee County jail Monday morning. This after spending the night behind bars and on the wrong side of the law. Ronga is accused of robbing a man he was supposed to be helping. Deputy Rongo was called to break up a disturbance at Maria's Restaurant in Bonita Springs. When everything was cleared up, Deputy Ronga allegedly offered one of the patrons, Rodolfo Casteneda, a ride home. But according to Casteneda, Ronga didn't drive him home. Instead Casteneda says he was driven to a remote field, beaten and robbed. Casteneda was able to escape and eventually found other deputies to report what had happened to him. Ronga was arrested and Sheriff Mike Scott says Ronga is on administraitive leave without pay pending the outcome of the investigation. Ronga is expected back in court on June 3rd.
