FORT MYERS, FL - The Fort Myers Housing Authority "broke ground" on 2 new housing complexes to replace the Sabal Palm and Palmetto court complexes. Palmetto Court will be leveled while neighboring Sabal Palm will be gutted and renovated. Senator Bill Nelson is credited with helping to get the Federal dollars to move the project along. Nelson was on hand for the ground breaking ceremony that took place at the Reniassance Preserve, another Fort Myers Housing Authority property. The multi million dollar project is expected to be completed by 2015.
