LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A 38-year-old Sanibel man appeared in federal court this afternoon, facing charges of allegedly distributing child pornography. A judge ruled that Charles Nave III can be released on $250,000 bond.

Officials say they've been investigating Nave since January. That's when he allegedly e-mailed naked pictures, of what officials say, are minors to an undercover agent.

Authorities say he admitted to having an addiction to porn and needed help.

Sanibel BIG ARTS, Nave's previous employer, released the following statement in response to Nave's arrest:

"All of us at BIG ARTS were surprised and dismayed to learn, as a result of an ongoing federal investigation, of our former employee Chad Nave’s serious violation of our electronic media policy. Each of our employees has formally acknowledged their understanding and compliance with this policy. As a result, Mr. Nave has been terminated from his employment at BIG ARTS, and is not allowed to enter our campus. We are confident as a result of our internal review that this matter is limited to Mr. Nave’s action and does not involve anyone else associated with BIG ARTS."
