MIAMI (AP) - Miami-Dade police shot a 32-year-old man while investigating a cell phone theft.
Police say uniformed officers went to a home in Miami early Thursday to investigate the reported theft. According to investigators, Jeffrey Paul was armed with a handgun when he opened the door.
Investigators say there was a brief confrontation during which shots were fired.
Paul was airlifted to a hospital in serious condition. There was no updated word on his condition.
An investigation is continuing.
