CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- A Charlotte County man is accused of keeping alligators in his home, and apparently...that's not all. Deputies say Pablo Cauz was also growing marijuana in his garage.
Animal Control officers served a search warrant and found a horse and several other animals in bad shape at his house, but what started as an animal cruelty case quickly turned into something else as well.
Officers received several complaints for the house on Oil Well Road, where Cauz lives. When they served a warrant Tuesday, they found horses, two baby alligators in a tub, hogs and roosters. Many of them had fleas, anemia and marks all over their bodies.
While they searched the property, officers stumbled on a marijuana grow house, containing more than 80 plants.
