COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- UPDATE: After receiving an anonymous tip on his whereabouts, Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Martinez-Jimenez on Friday and charged him with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon.

He is currently being booked into the Naples Jail Center. 


The Collier County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating a man who detectives would like to talk to in connection with a shooting Wednesday in East Naples.

Deputies responded to a call in reference to a gunshot victim found on the side of the road at the intersection of Radio Road and Marie Lane.

The victim told detectives she had been involved in a verbal argument with her live-in boyfriend Candido Ezequiel Martinez-Jimenez at a residence at 99 Dewey Court. The victim said during the argument Martinez-Jimenez pulled out a .32-caliber handgun and shot at her three times, striking her once in the left shoulder, according to detectives.

Martinez-Jimenez fled the residence on foot, detectives said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Martinez-Jimenez was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans with blood on his foot.

Detectives said he may be driving a 1993 white Chevrolet pickup with Florida license plate number 371NGN, or a 2001 gray Chevrolet four-door vehicle with Florida license plate number M178VY.
