LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Newly released documents shed light on the death of a 2-year-old Fort Myers girl. Police say Derric Johnson shook and beat Brianna Addison while babysitting her earlier this year.

Records released just this afternoon say Johnson admitted to part of the crimes in his interview with Fort Myers Police. The crime happened January 31st in the Horizons Apartments complex, off Summerlin Road.

Johnson was babysitting while the little girl's mother was at work. The medical examiner says the 2-year-old died from blunt force trauma to the head. Her body was badly beaten. She even had a welt resembling a leather belt across her face.

For the first time, we're hearing from Brianna's mother, Shawna Hall, in just released recordings with 911 dispatchers. Hall told police she checked on her children in the middle of the night, but after leaving for work Johnson called her back to the home.

911 Dispatcher: "Okay, tell me exactly what happened."

Hall: "My boyfriend just went in there to wake up my daughter and he called me back. She will not wake up. Like, I was leaving and he called me back.  She will not wake up. Her lips are blue. She has, like, fluid coming out of her nose and her mouth. I don't know what's wrong. She will not wake up."

The 911 recording goes on for seven minutes, as the dispatcher walks the child's mother through CPR. Brianna was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

Police say Johnson admitted to tossing the 2-year-old in the air, and hitting her head on something in the living room. Family members say Johnson never showed any signs of physical abuse, but he's now charged with aggravated child abuse and manslaughter.
