LEE COUNTY, Fla.- People and their furry friends hit the pavement early Saturday morning for the Fast and Furriest 5K to raise money for the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

It was the third annual event bringing out owners and their dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds.

There was a staggered start for solo runners, runners with dogs and 1-mile walkers.

Some people participating even got their pets from the Gulf Coast Humane Society, so they say it was a fun way for them to give back.
