MARCO ISLAND, Fla.- Marco Island Police Department Officers were dispatched to a residence on Maywood Ct. in reference to a missing person, on Monday at 12:40 a.m. Officers were informed that a 71-year-old Alice Berg had been missing for approximately two hours.

After an extensive search, around 4:00 a.m., the CCSO Helicopter located a body in the large waterway, bordered by Maywood Ct, N. Barfield Dr, and N. Bahama Ave.

Berg was recovered and Marco Island Police Department Detectives began an investigation pertaining to the circumstances of her death. 

The Medical Examiner will conduct an investigation.
