FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Alternative Learning Center Central, located at 3650 Michigan Ave., was on lockdown this afternoon, as officers searched the school for an alleged gunman.

Cruisers from both the Fort Myers Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff's Office swarmed the school, after a report of a person with a gun on the campus, but came up empty-handed. Little information was released as concerned parents waited outside of the school for hours.

The 281 students on campus were eventually searched and released.
