COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - "Trying to find appropriate clothing to wear for a job interview just isn't at the top of the priority list usually," said Kirsten O'Donnell, the Spokesperson for Goodwill.
For young men in need, Joseph's Custom Clothiers is doing the leg work.
"For business needs, graduating college, interviewing, there's a lot of important things out there," said Joseph's owner, Joseph Wendt.
And finding the right clothes can be as challenging as the interview.
"Poverty is pervasive throughout the whole community, you have the majority of the people living in Immokalee living below poverty level, so there isn't an opportunity to buy a suit," said the Executive Director of the Immokalee Foundation, Liz Allbritten.
So Joseph's started "Suits for Success" to dress young men in need. For the next three months, Joseph's and other local businesses will host collection parties.
"Suits, sport coats, slacks, shirts, ties," said Wendt.
The clothing will be donated to two groups. First. the Immokalee Foundation.
"Gives our kids a sense of confidence, when you walk into a room and you feel your dressed appropriately, there's a sense of confidence that the children instill within themselves," said Allbritten.
And to Goodwill, who last year saw almost 9000 people in need of a job.
"But a lot of folks who come through, one of their biggest obstacles, honestly, is just finding something appropriate to wear for an interview," said O'Donnell.
