MIAMI (AP) - A former Florida congressional candidate's expected guilty plea to federal campaign violations has been delayed.
    
Court records show 35-year-old Justin Lamar Sternad will enter the plea on March 15 in Fort Lauderdale federal court. Sternad had initially been scheduled to plead guilty on Wednesday.
    
Sternad attorney Rick Yabor declined comment on the reason for the delay.
    
Sternad is accused of accepting thousands of dollars in illegal campaign contributions and concealing their true source.
    
He was charged after reports surfaced that Republican former U.S. Rep. David Rivera's campaign provided the money to Sternad to use in a 2012 Democratic primary against eventual winner Joe Garcia. Garcia went on to defeat Rivera for the 26th congressional district seat.
    
Rivera denies involvement but has also been the subject of a federal tax investigation.
