FORT MYERS, Fla.- LBS Tax Service on Winkler in Fort Myers has re-opened, but some customers remain dissatisfied, upset at the fees they were charged, or the inability to get back all their documents.
"I am frustrated, honestly, I am really upset," said Nader Khabazz, a customer of LBS. He came to the business Friday to try to retrieve some documents used in preparing his taxes.
He tells WINK News, his preparer gave back only his W-2 form. The person refused to part with other documents, without the approval of a manager. None was present at the time.
"Now, I have to make another appointment when there is a manager here, to get my paperwork," said Khabazz. He worries about somebody seeing his personal information, and stealing his identity. Khabazz also is upset over the 500 dollars he says he was charged by LBS to do his taxes. He says he was quoted a price of $75.
Carlos Ortiz also came by LBS, and was given information about getting his refund at a check-cashing store. Ortiz also says, he paid nearly 500 dollars for his tax preparation at LBS, when he was told it would be $75. "It is not right, but what can you do," says Ortiz.
WINK News called LBS, asking for a comment on the complaints. We received no response.
LBS was closed for a time, because it posted illegal signs around Fort Myers. It paid a $2,250 fine to the city, and was allowed to re-open on Friday.
