MIAMI (AP) - Police say two heavily armed men fatally shot a homeowner as he tried to protect his family during a home invasion.
The incident happened late Tuesday night in Miami.
Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Reyes told The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/Yr1sYb ) it was unclear why the men burst into the home. She says they stormed into the home where a little girl was sleeping.
According to Reyes, the homeowner was trying to protect his family when he was shot. No one else was injured.
No further details were immediately available.
Police are looking for the suspects. They ask anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
