NAPLES, Fla.- Today was day one of the two day Pro Am part of the Classic. On Friday, some of golf's best will hit the links.
Six hall of famers who have committed to the field. our defending champion kenny perry whos come back again....
And a Naples resident.
"Rocco Mediate just won at the Allianz with his champions tour debut and we're excited to bring him back here for his ACE Group classic debut," said Lesley Baker.
Seven hundred volunteers help set the tournament up.
"It takes a lot of people to put on an event of this size," said Baker.
Tournament Director Lesley Baker said it takes months to plan the tournament.
"We have four full time staff here in the office that soley focus on this event..And we bring in abuot ten other support staff to help out with advanced week and this week."
And she said a lot of help comes from Naples, starting with the volunteers.
"We've got some great sponsors involved in the local community as well as the ACE Group obviously that comes in from all over," said Baker.
