FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting. At 4:11 a.m. the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a call in reference to shots fired at the Reflections Apartments located at 3870 Central Avenue #211.
Shortly after officers arrived on scene they received information that two men suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at the emergency room at Lee Memorial Hospital.
Detectives determined that a male who lives at the apartment stepped outside to smoke a cigarette when he says two known male suspects attacked him and pushed him back into his apartment where a struggle ensued. The resident who possesses a handgun pulled his firearm and shot both males. The suspects then fled the scene and went to the hospital.
27-year-old Ashanti Underwood and 28-year-old Jamar Underwood, both of Fort Myers, were treated for non-life threatening wounds and released from the hospital. Police arrested the Underwood brothers for occupied burglary.
