NORTH PORT, Fla.- Authorities arrested an employee of the Sarasota County School Board Friday on child pornography charges.
On Friday at 1:18 p.m., officers responded to 2600 BLK of Vedado Street, based on information received from the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. The North Port Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau were provided with the name and address of a subject, 37-year-old Elliot Christopher Bullard, who was disseminating child pornography via the internet. Detectives investigated the case and subsequently arrested Bullard on eight counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Transmitting Child Pornography.
Bullard, who is employed by the Sarasota County School Board as an IT Specialist for Atwater Elementary, was arrested and transported to the Sarasota County Jail. Additional charges may be pending.
Sarasota County Schools says Bullard has been employed with them since August 2005 and that he has been placed on administrative leave. Additionally, they say Bullard would not have had unsupervised contact with students, in performing his routine duties at school.
