LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - Two people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries after a hit and run crash in Lehigh Acres early Saturday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol says someone driving a Mercedes crashed into a Dodge pickup on State Road 82 around 4 a.m. just east of Columbus Blvd., forcing the pickup into a ditch.

Troopers say the Mercedes burst into flames after the crash, but no one inside that car was hurt because of the fire.

Two people did go to the hospital with minor injuries from the crash.

Troopers are looking for the driver of the Mercedes, who ran from the scene after the crash.

They are still investigating and charges could be filed.
