Cape Coral pedestrian dies after walking into traffic

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A pedestrian was killed Thursday night on the 500 block CR 884 (Veterans Parkway East) when he walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle, according to Cape Coral Police.
It happened just before 11:15 p.m.
Luis Martinez Garcia was driving his Lincoln Town Car when 25-year-old Richard Steven Aughinbaugh stepped out in front of him. Police say Aughinbaugh was wearing dark colored clothing, and that Garcia didn't see him until the impact.
Aughinbaugh died on scene.
