PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives, assisted by K9 and the Street Crimes Unit, raided a Port Charlotte home and found a trailer on the property containing a marijuana grow house. Shawn Eric Davis, 42, and Shane Ryan Watson, 20, of 1197 Waterside Street, were arrested. Richard Dennis Davis, 75, of Port Charlotte, was also arrested.
On Sep. 25, Narcotics detectives started an investigation on the residence that led to obtaining a search warrant which was executed at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday. Five people were located in the home and one in a trailer on the property.
The trailer was occupied by Davis who lived in one part and the marijuana growing operation in the other. Power ran from the house to the trailer. Multiple high voltage lights were located, an air conditioning unit, and plants were fed with water via pipes and pumps. Outside the trailer detectives located several chemicals and nutrients used to grow the marijuana. Detectives seized six large marijuana plants (839 grams) and six small marijuana plans (7.9 grams). Also located in the trailer were three handguns, a shotgun, an AR-15, and over 1,600 rounds of ammunition. Inside the bedroom of Shawn Davis, detectives found 23.3 grams of marijuana and Hydrocodone pills. In Shane Watson’s bedroom, detectives found marijuana and a smoking pipe with residue.
Narcotics detectives arrested and charged Davis with Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana Over 20-grams, Possession of Hydrocodone, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Shane Watson was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Detectives charged Richard Davis with Possession of Marijuana Over 20-grams.
All three were transported to the Charlotte County Jail. Shawn Davis posted an $8,500 bond; Richard Davis posted a $2,500 bond; and Shane Watson posted a $2,000 bond.
